I was checking out some TVs today at both Comet and Currys and I couldn’t help but notice that the mid-range TVs all looked pretty poor. I checked the specs and in fairness they should have been looking pretty decent.
As I headed further through the television display and got to the higher priced models, all of a sudden the images on display were crisp and clear. The specifications on these TVs were almost identical to those of the mid-range only larger and it was only then that I realised what was going on.
On the cheaper televisions the stores connect standard definition sources to the televisions and high definition sources to the real expensive models, making it impossible for you to make an informed decision on what to buy.
If you head off to buy a TV make sure what you’re seeing is what you are meant to be seeing.
